Position Summary:
The Security Officer protects personnel and property within the INTEGRIS Health buildings and on all contiguous grounds. The Security Officer prevents criminal, destructive, or disruptive activity or corrects hazardous and unsafe conditions, controls pedestrian and vehicle traffic, provides public service to patients, visitors and employees, and performs parking enforcement duties when directed. This position requires population specific competencies.
Essential Functions:
The Security Officer responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Conducts patrols by vehicle or on foot, ensures all property and facilities are secure, detects and takes proper action regarding unauthorized or illegal entry
· Ensures that employee regulations, policies and procedures are adhered to
· Controls pedestrian and vehicle traffic, ensures vehicles are secure and safe, provides assistance at helicopter pad during emergency, issues traffic citations
· Conducts inspections and fire drills of facility and prevents, corrects or reports hazardous or unsafe conditions
· Provides public services such as motorist and patient assists and escorts to vehicle upon request
· Detains criminal suspects for the police when appropriate
Accountability:
The Security Officer reports to the Security Lieutenant and Sergeant.
IMH Only: The Security Officer reports to the Security Lieutenant and Sergeant with general supervision from the Manager Facility Services
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 30 credit hours of college preferred
· Certification from International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety within 1 year of hire
· CLEET Certification required within 6 months of hire
· 1 year private security experience, preferably in a hospital; 1 year general public experience may be substituted
· MMPI or CPI psychological evaluation
· 1.5 mile walk/run within 17:30 minutes
· Current Oklahoma driver?s license
· Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
